Some things are easier to wear than to say out loud. The boat just docked and it brought a turtle on a surfboard
Every so often a fresh batch comes off the boat and has to find its spot on the sand. This one arrived loud. It is the whatchamacallit, the you-know-the-one, the word that fills the gap while your brain catches up, and everyone on the island understands it from context. It is also the exact feeling of shopping for someone you know well and cannot pin down: you know they would love the island, you just do not know if today is a sloth day or a flamingo day. -
